Child Friendly Dimapur (CFD) is an initiative of AIDA (ANMA Integrated Development Association) officially launched on 29th September 2021 by Shri. Rajesh Soundarajan IAS, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur as the Honourable Chief Guest in the presence of Mr. Albert Ezung, Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council, representatives of various Government department, civil societies, educational institutions and NGOs from Dimapur.

Child Friendly Dimapur is based on Child Friendly City Initiatives (CFCI) of the United Nations, founded in 1996, to respond to the challenges of realizing the rights of children in an increasingly urbanized and decentralized world.

According to UNICEF and UN Habitat, “a child friendly city is a city, town, community or any system of local governance committed to fulfilling child rights as articulated in the United Nation Convention for the Rights of the Child; non-discrimination (Article 2), best interest of the child (Article 31), the inherent right to life, survival and development (Article 6) and respect for the views of the child (Article 12).
